Exercise Name: Squats

Muscle Group: Erector Spinae, Gluteus Maximus (glutes), (Quads (Quadriceps femoris), Rectus femoris, Vastus intermedius (Cruraeus), Vastus lateralis (Vastus externus), Vastus medialis (vastus internus)), Hamstrings (the three posterior thigh muscles - semitendinosus, semimembranosus and the biceps femoris – also including the tendons that make up the borders of the space behind the knee).

Description: The squat is a fundamental strength-training exercise that works several muscle groups in your lower body. This multi-joint, functional movement translates directly to real-life actions, such as picking up a box from the floor. The squat has dozens of variations, although all the versions have the same basic movement pattern. Proper squatting form is important to reduce risk of injury.
